Atelier Cassis is the workspace of artist Veronica Z.

Her practice explores memory and loss through an interdisciplinary practice that spans painting, drawing, ceramics, and writing.

Moving across these mediums to explore the layered and often conflicting dimensions within the self, she is drawn to the tension between connection and estrangement: with our own inner multiplicities, with each other, and with the natural world.

Rather than offering resolution, the work seeks to dive into the sometimes uncomfortable terrain where personal and collective anxieties mirror ecological precarity. In this way, these works hope to open up a dialogue about how facing these fractures might help us find new forms of connection.

Veronica also contributes writing about the arts and have published with the CBC, TVO, Vice and others.
